Matthew 21:21 – 22
"21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
One of the biggest frustration Christians face is receiving answer to prayers. But receiving from God is a very easy thing. The same way it was easy for us to receive our salvation when we became born again, that is just how easy it is for us to receive anything we desire from God. Jesus assured us that we can receive whatsoever we ask.
To receive means to take with your hand, to lay hold of any person or thing in order to use it, and to take what is your own without violence or struggle.
In our text we find keys to receiving answer to our prayers
- You must be born again: God does not hear sinners. If you want to receive answer to prayers you must first deal with sin. - John 9:11, Isaiah 59 :1 – 2, John 5:14
Sin withholds good things from getting to you because where there is sin Satan has authority and he will lay hold of your sin as a legal ground to resist your blessings. - Jeremiah 5:25, Matthew 12:43 – 45, Psalm 34:15 - Make sure that what you ask of God is His will for your life: To receive speedy answer to our prayers we ought to know God's will for us which are written in His word and then pray in accordance to His will. While we pray we should know the promises of God and claim them. - 1 John 5:14, 2 Corinthians 8:9
- You must believe and not doubt what you are asking: In the kingdom, it is “unto you according to your faith.” If you believe and doubt not, you will see the wonders of God. - Matthew 9:27 – 30, James 1:5 – 8
Stay consistent in your faith, do not waver. To doubt God is to say God is not capable. Doubt makes you unstable.
The same way it was easy for us to receive our salvation when we became born again, that is just how easy it is for us to receive anything we desire from God. Jesus assured us that we can receive whatsoever we ask.
Keys to help you stay in faith
- Understand that God wants to give whatever you ask to you more than you are ready to receive. - Luke 12:26 – 32
- Understand that what you are asking for already exist. - Luke 14:16 – 17
- Work according to instructions. - John 2:1 – 8
You can receive whatever you ask from God, just believe.
